Ipads
My Kindergarten students love Ipads! Every Wednesday afternoon the class enjoys a block of using the Ipads. They play math games, word search, and practice tracing their letters. They always have a blast! Here is a list of apps my kids love:
Kidblog |
Kidblog has been an awesome technological tool for Kids. This year I have used Kidblog for all three of my Junior high subjects. My kids really enjoyed the experience and so did I! Students of mine who have had difficulty expressing themselves, really opened up while using Kidblog.
This is an example of a students work from my grade 8 Health class. I was pleasantly surprised by this student, as he is normally very withdrawn from the school environment. It empowered him to have a voice!
Our class discussion surrounded ideas about conformity and dissent. The students had to answer this post: Based on our discussion of positives and negatives of conformity and dissent. What do you think is better? Why? Please give supporting evidence for your decision. |
iMovie
My students really enjoy using iMovie. After some reflection, I decided to incorporate iMovie into a project that previously had the kids presenting in front of class. It was based on the story, "The Scream" by D.J. Wieler. Students often relate to this story because Eliza, the main character, is their age and is dealing with self image issues.
